Training is probably one of most important responsibilities in a fire department in today's changing fire service. Everyone knows that in today's world. thanks to fire prevention and public education, the number of actual fires we respond to are down from past years. In turn we must get most of our experience from training. On average, we are still having right at 100 firefighters die in the line of duty each year across america. These numbers must go down and this hopefully can be achieved by giving firefighters up-to-date and relistic training in a way they can understand.
Here at Lake Dreamland, we have a very proactive and motivated group of instructors. Most of these instructors go out of their way to help younger firefighters understand the "basics" and share their experience that can hopefully keep our firefighters safe. We provide realistic training in live situations so that the members can see just how fire acts in certain environments. We also provide our firefighters with more than average Hazardous Material Response training due to our constant responce into Rubbertown. Also at Lake Dreamland, we have in place a very strong Driver Operator and Officer Development program.
Our Current training classroom was built to provide a comfortable place for our in classroom training. This 1000 square foot classroom has a state of the art furnishings for our staff to deliver our weekly training.
